7 Things I Have Learned From Meditating Daily

I never thought I would be someone who meditated.

I never thought it would make a difference in my life, and I never knew what all the hype was about. And to be honest, I truly never thought I would eagerly get out of bed so early to do this… and look forward to it!

BUT THEN… I committed to learning how to meditate.

I started with guided meditation. I listened to the words others used as a template. I read books and learned more. I began to understand the why and how before diving directly into it.

Now, I have always been one who is empowered to learn.

I have always been up for challenging things…

  • Qualifying for Boston

  • Three time Ironman finisher

  • Four natural childbirths

  • Homeschooling my children

  • Starting not one, but two businesses… at the same time

I guess it’s safe to say I am not one to tip toe into things. As a matter of fact, I really go ALL IN.

So when I became curious about what all the hype was about with meditation, I did what I do best… and I jumped into it.

So, I wanted to share with you what I have learned.

Meditation has shown me how to:

Quiet my mind:

Daily meditation has helped to quiet the constant chatter and mental noise that often fills our minds. Through meditation, I’ve learned to cultivate a sense of stillness and inner calm. This quieting of the mind has helped to reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance my overall mental well-being.

Deepen my awareness with myself and the world around me:

Regular meditation practice has helped me to develop a heightened sense of self-awareness. By turning my attention inward and observing my thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, I have become more attuned to my inner landscape. Additionally, meditation can foster a sense of connection with the world around us, promoting a deeper understanding and empathy for others.

Hear the subtle nudges of inner wisdom:

As I worked to cultivate a quiet mind and deepen my self-awareness through meditation, I became more receptive to my inner wisdom. This inner wisdom can manifest as intuitive insights, creative ideas, or a deep sense of knowing. Regular meditation practice has allowed me to tune in to these subtle nudges and tap into your innate wisdom.

Deepen the trust within myself:

Through daily meditation, I’ve developed a stronger sense of trust in myself and my abilities. As I observe my thoughts and emotions without judgment during meditation, I have worked to cultivate self-acceptance and self-compassion. This process has helped to build confidence and trust in my own judgment and decisions, leading to greater self-assurance in various aspects of life.

Increase my peace:

One of the primary benefits of meditation is the cultivation of inner peace. By dedicating time each day to stillness and mindfulness, I have created a refuge within myself. This inner peace can extend beyond the meditation session and permeate our daily life, allowing us to navigate challenges and stressors with greater equanimity and serenity.

Find unshakable calmness:

Daily meditation has helped develop a deep reservoir of calmness within myself. As I practice observing and letting go of passing thoughts and emotions during meditation, I have become less reactive and more centered. This inner calmness remains with me even in the face of external disturbances, enabling me to respond to situations from a place of groundedness and composure.

Be in a constant state of gratitude:

Regular meditation can foster a sense of gratitude and appreciation for life's blessings. By grounding myself in the present moment and cultivating mindfulness, I have become more attuned to the beauty and abundance that surrounds me. This heightened awareness of the present moment and the practice of gratitude has brought a sense of joy and fulfillment to my daily experiences.

Incorporating these elements into your daily meditation practice can lead to profound personal growth and transformation.

And because meditation is the way we can enter and reprogram the subconscious mind, I see now this is how to literally change my life.

Through meditation, I am able to reprogram, rewire, reset and renew who I am. I can intentionally re-create who I want to be and what I want my future to look like.

That’s powerful. And honestly, unexpected.

It’s the reason I will continue to do this daily.
